What does suggest to you an artist who is standing in a wall 4 meters from the ground? Yes, he is leaned on the wall of a street with only one hand!.
Yesterday, during some hours in the morning, the German artist Johan Lorbeer performed an exhibition in a street near the Callao’s square. The people who were walking on the street was astounded.
The artist is a professor of University of Fine Arts of Berlin, who had been presenting a new genre of art “still life performances” for some years around the world. He seems to unhinge the laws of gravity because during the performance he is in suspension in the air. He has represented a lot of physical impossible positions. He wants to be a real sculpture.
Meanwhile, people were amazed and worry to see the artist hanged in the wall. The reaction of some persons was trying to take him to feel it was true, but they couldn’t. They thought that Johan was a superhuman or a person with angelic appearance but they didn’t believe that this is a type of art.
The trick of the mystery is that Johan stays hanged due to a simple metal structure that holds him to the wall. This type of chassis is hidden within his clothes, looking to be more real.
This performance has been made whit the collaboration the Goethe-Institute of Madrid, with the finality to advertise the ARCO Fair of Art.
